Santa Claus is a minor character in A Very Patrick Christmas who delivers presents around the world late Christmas Eve and early Christmas Day. He is an internationally-renowned figure, having widely varying versions depending on the culture and locale.

Character Details Edit

Physical Description Edit

Santa wears a red fur coat with a black belt and white tufts of white fur. His pants and cap are also red, with holiday adornments. His beard and facial hair is all white. However, in an earlier version of this character, his beard was long and gray.

Characteristics Edit

Santa Claus is very jolly, giving a variety of presents to young and old alike. He typically gets around by flying in a sleigh pulled by flying reindeer. However, he can be very harsh in his presents for those who have misbehaved in the past year.

Before Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Edit

The tradition of Santa Claus dates back several centuries, being an amalgamation of several other figures from history and folklore, including Father Christmas, St. Nicholas, and Pere Noel.

The Santa Claus that we know today originated around the 1770's as Sinterklaas, which is the Dutch name for Santa. Washington Irving Americanized this name as Santa Claus in 1773, but it wasn't until the 1881 Thomas Nast illustration of Santa that his current appearance began to take shape.

Throughout the 20th and 21st Centuries, the legend of Santa Claus was further shaped in popular culture via movies, comics, TV shows, advertisements, theme parks, and more. Santa has become a staple of the Holiday season and is one of the most recognized cultural icons around the globe.

Trivia Edit

  • Originally, Santa Claus was not going to appear in A Very Patrick Christmas. However, when executives stated that ending the film with the photo revel was too weak, Santa was added for more holiday cheer.
  • Although he has not appeared in any Mustache Maniacs Film Co. since A Very Patrick Christmas, he was re-designed for the Alpha Team Advent Calendar in 2015.
  • In The Rented Christmas, it is explicitly stated that Santa Claus is not real, with Bridget and Martha bringing out all of the gifts from Santa. While controversial when it was first staged, the canon disregarded this as The Rented Christmas was not released by Mustache Maniacs Film Co. initially. However, now that Mustache Maniacs Film Co. has released a remaster of this film, the complication going forward is that this contradicts A Very Patrick Christmas, where there actually is a Santa Claus. Currently, The Rented Christmas is non-canon, but as the canon evolves, this contradiction may need to be addressed.
